ARMM GOV’T SUPPORTS THE SIGNING OF THE COMPREHENSIVE AGREEMENT ON THE BANGSAMORO (CAB)







PRESS RELEASE


Cotabato City/March 27, 2014.  The Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (ARMM) Government through the leadership of Honorable Regional Governor, Mujiv S. Hataman supports the signing of the Comprehensive Agreement on the Bangsamoro (CAB) at Malacanang Palace, Manila today.

As a gesture for support and welcoming the gains of peace negotiations, a KANDULI is hosted at the ORG Compound in this city from 4pm to 8pm.

A synchronized set of activities for peace celebration are hosted at the provincial level.

Basilan Province/Isabela City. Simultaneous VTR viewing hooked at Live Stream from Malacanang and Civil Society Forum with Local Government Units (LGUs).

Lanao del Sur/Marawi City. Set of Peace Activities: A Peace Caravan, cultural presentations, a Peace Walkathon with Maranao traditional attire handing-out leaflets as part of information, education and campaign, (IEC), and radio/telecast programming.

Maguindanao Province/ORG Compound, Cotabato City. ARMM Government hosts a Kanduli: A Celebration of Peace in Support of the Signing of the Comprehensive Agreement on the Bangsamoro (CAB) ~ Messages of Support, Cultural Presentations, Live Video Streaming of Signing of CAB, Banging of Agong, Fireworks Display and Peace Concert.

Sulu Province. An Inter-Faith Prayer for Peace is hosted at the Municipal Function Hall at Jolo, Sulu.

Tawi-Tawi Province. Multi-Stakeholders Peace Forum expressing messages of support         and Cultural Presentations at the Mindanao State University-Tawi-Tawi College of         Technology and Oceanography (MSU-TCTO)

The ARMM government’s peace events are spearheaded by the LF Team wherein the nominated Focal Person is the RPMA General Manager, Prof. Hanie A. Bud. ###

The LF Team is comprised of the locally created bureaus and offices in the ARMM such as: Bureau of Cultural Heritage (BCH), Bureau of Madaris Education (BME), Bureau of Public Information (BPI), Regional Ports Management Authority (RPMA), Regional Reconciliation and Unification Commission (RRUC), Regional Economic Zone Authority (REZA), Regional Commission for Bangsamoro Women (RCBW), Coordinating and Development Office for Bangsamoro Youth Affairs (CDO-BYA), Regional Sports Coordinating Office (RSCO), Regional Planning and Development Office (RPDO), Regional Budget Management Office (RBMO), ARMM Development Academy (ADA),Regional Human Rights Commission (RHRC), Office of the Regional Treasury (ORT), Office of the Attorney General, and the Intelligence and Security Services-ARMM (ISS). The Department of Tourism-ARMM (DOT) though a national line agency also joined the LF Team in sponsoring cultural troupes for the occasion.
